Nyaloe Impact Ltd

Who We Are

Nyalore Impact Ltd., a women-led social enterprise, was established in 2016 to enhance cooking options for Kenya’s rural poor population. By providing safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly cooking solutions, we hope to assist off-grid communities in resolving their persistent energy and cooking challenges.

Driving Principles and Beliefs

Our Commitment

Offer affordable, eco-friendly energy-efficient appliances to underprivileged communities, to stimulate sustainable electrification and encourage productive uses of energy habits.

We aim to create a society where everyone can cook with dignity by enabling people to cook with the cooking technology of their choice.

Elevating Lives, Sustaining Earth, Cook Modern, Live Better!

What We Do

Our Commitment to Solutions

Electrical Revolution Solutions

By promoting and developing the distribution network for energy-efficient, safe, and ecologically friendly electrical appliances, we enable energy partner (Renewvia) to profitably electrify their operations, whether they are off-grid or on.

Affordability Solutions

We make energy-efficient appliances affordable by partnering with financial institutions, offering installment payment choices, and implementing the PAY Go approach. This helps low-income households and small businesses overcome the upfront cost barrier.

Community Engagement

We offer practical advice on the use and maintenance of our products, as well as healthy cooking techniques, through our community education and training programs. We collaborate with local sales reps and last-mile distributors to provide unparalleled after-sales services and customer care, resulting in a broad reach and influence.

What drives us

After discovering that many communities, particularly those in low-income areas, lacked access to clean energy solutions and were disproportionately affected by environmental degradation and pollution. Nyalore Impact has addressed this  issue by creating social enterprise that could provide clean energy solutions to these communities, while also creating jobs and economic opportunities.

Our Background

Dothy Atieno Awuor-CEO/Founder

Dorothy is the founder of Nyalore Impact, a social enterprise based in Homa Bay town, Western Kenya, that specializes in the sale of improved cookstoves, as well as the production and sale of briquettes. Dorothy was introduced to clean technologies and fuels in 2014, by her son who had noticed the struggles she experienced using charcoal for cooking.

While she was immediately entranced by the idea of distributing briquettes, her first sales demonstration at a hotel went horribly wrong, when the fuel failed to burn cleanly as a result of using an inefficient stove. During the demonstration the entire hotel kitchen was blanketed in smoke.
